Case Study

In this case, we have two similar manufacturing organizations operating in the same city in Florida. They hire employees from the same pool of available applicants and pay similar wages.

Company A has had 15 OSHA recordable cases over the past three years. They experienced two injuries in 2019, five in 2020, and nine in 2021. Employee work (exposure) hours for each of those years were as follows: 2019: 456987 hours; 2020: 463287 hours; 2021: 664290 hours.

Company B had 10 OSHA recordable cases over the same period as Company A. Company B experienced three injuries in 2019, three injuries in 2020, and four injuries in 2021. Employee work (exposure) hours for each of those years were as follows: 2019: 40325; 2020: 35296 hours; 2021: 24951 hours.
