4 Blocker Assignment:
For each corner of the 4 Blocker for Continuous Improvement, give an example of the X and Y metric(s). For the DMAIC section you will have multiple "Xs" for your one "Y." For the DMADV section you will have multiple "Ys" (or needs) for your one "X." The example can come from your work or personal life and you can draw it free-hand with pen and paper or via a program like PPT. To review what goes into each block, review the instructional videos discussing a 4 Blocker for Continuous Improvement. When finished, upload a picture (.png, .jpg, .jpeg) or pdf (.pdf) of your work.
Grading Rubric
Deduct 5 points for each of the 4 items that the student's submission does not satisfy.
- The Y for DMAIC should be measurable. No fewer than two Xs.
- The Y for Lean should be measurable.
- The Go Do should be a "Go do" ... no Y
- DFSS/DMADV - there should be multiple Ys, and those Ys should be measurable, related [to each other], and describe the customer's needs. For example:
Y1: I need a car which can tow 5,000 pounds
Y2: I want to weigh less than 160 pounds
Y3: I need a car which can tow 5,000 pounds
Y4: I need a car which can go from 0 to 60 MPH in under 6 seconds
Y1 and Y2 would not be acceptable as the Ys are for different things [a car and personal weight goal]
Y3 and Y4 would be acceptable as they are related to the same thing [a car]
