4. Lofgren is against relationship conflict and for conflict around business issues. Therefore, to manage conflict he started by bringing in outside counsel to help the better listen and understand each other and focus their debate on critical issues. Bas he brought in outsiders to help reduce relationship conflict while at the same time room for more understanding, beneficial task conflict. Also, Lofgren is doing this because he has no intention of playing the referee role. He doesn't want to have to single individual that everyone goes to solve their conflicts, but instead people sho able to turn to one another and work things out (problem-solving face to face). Suc happening with the executive group (restructuring the organization). Also, the exec group is creating superordinate goals, making the company work less individually a more as a team.
