5.3 Below is the TGA figure extract with traces in air for the following hydrated fillers:
Hvdromaanesite (Mg5(CO3)4(OH)2*4H2O), Hydrotalcite (Mg6Al2CO3(OH)16*4(H2O) and Magnesium hydroxide (MgOH2). The temperature was scanned from 25C to 900C at a scan rate of 10Cmin-1 with air flowing at a rate of 50mLmin-1. The residual masses at the 900C obtained were 67.3wt.%,56.8wt.% and 43.1wt.% for Mg(OH)2, hydrotalcite and hydromagnesite respectively.
The corresponding theoretically expected values are 69.1wt.%,56.1 wt.% and 43.1wt.% for Mg(OH), hydrotalcite and hydromagnesite respectively.
