516 Follow-up Question 1 Indicate which statements are true. A file descriptor can refer to either end of a pipe. When a process is blocked on a read, it can execute other instructions while it waits. A blocked read call will return when the associated file descriptor has data available to be read. A blocked read call on a file descriptor for the read end of a pipe, will return when any close call is made on the other end of the pipe. If a process is blocked waiting to read one pipe, it can't read the available data from the other pipe. If a pipe has no open writing ends, then calling read on the reading end of the pipe will not block. History Submit
