6. A manufacturing rm which produces precision parts for high~end electronics has dozens of machines which produce those parts. The machines run at high temperatures and, consequently, they must be shot down often for maintenance. A salesman IS trying to sell the rtn's owner a new synthetic lubricant which. the salesman claims, will allow the machines to run longer before needing to be shutdown for maintenance. Since the lubricant is expensive, the owner of the manufacturing rm wants to test it before committing to a large purchase. The owner of the manufacturing flrm randomly selects 8 of his machines on which to test the new lubricant. He runs the machines using the existing lubricant and recorded how many days they are used before being shut down for maintenance. Then he uses the new lubricant and again records the number of days the machines can be run before they are required to be shut down for maintenance. The results are summarized in the table below. At the .01 level of significance, test to see if the new lubricant increases the number of days the machines can run before they need to be shut down for maintenance. List and clearly label all eight steps. Round to 4 (FOUR) decimal places.
