6. It is known that AIDS patients often develop tuberculosis. Cot et al. (1990) reported a study of the risk factors associated with the development of tuberculosis in these patients. A primary risk factor of interest was the abuse of intravenous drugs. Of the 1992 patients in the study, 307 abused intravenous drugs; 46 of the patients had tuberculosis, and of these 11 abused intravenous drugs.
