A 12.0 kg box resting on a horizontal, frictionless surface is attached to a 5.00 kg weight by a thin, light wire that passes over a frictionless pulley (Figure 1). The pulley has the shape of a uniform solid disk of mass 2.00 kg and diameter 0.500 m.
Find:
1- Moment of inertia of the pulley.
2- Relationship between angular acceleration of the pulley, and linear acceleration of the boxes.
3- Acceleration of the box.
4- Tension in wire of each side on the pulley.
5- Angular acceleration of pulley.
6- Apply Newton's second law for the boxes and for the pulley to get the force torque balance equations.
