(a) A tank is filled up with a continuous inflow stream of water having a flow rate of F, litres/h. The effluent water stream from the tank passes through a flow control valve using which the height of the liquid inside the tank can be maintained to the desired set-point value. The liquid level is measured and displayed using a level indicator (LI) having a tag number of 305 to the plant operator. It is then transmitted using a level transmiter (1.T) and then goes to a level controller (LC) with the same tag number as of the L1 and LT. The pneumatic output signal from the LC mes to the control valve, which controls the flow rate of water in the effluent stream by adjusting the valve position to maintain the desired level of water inside the tank. Draw a neat sketch of the preumatic level control loop for this process by showing all the equipments marked with their appropriate symbols. 14 Marks

(b) A reaction A BC is taking place in a CSTR at 60 C. The molar flow rates of A and B entering the reactor are 1200 and 600 kmalu, respectively. The reactants are pumped using centrifugal pumps and preheated using heaters to 40 C before being introduced to the CSTR. After the reaction, the effluent stream from the reactor contains the product along with certain unreacted amount of B This stream is taken to a continuous distillation column, where C is separated as the distillate product collected at the top and B is the bettan product having a molar flow rate of 350 kmol/hr. Draw a neut PFD diagram of the process by showing appropriate symbols of all the equipments used along with the flow rates of all streams [Marks]
