A basic concept in finance is that investors who dislike risk (they are risk averse) will take on financial risk only if they:

1)	expect to receive the risk-free rate of return.

2)	expect to receive a fair return for the risk taken.

3)	expect to receive negative cash flows.

4)	expect free cash flow to be zero.
