A condenser is used to heat patients blood in thermal therapy of treating cancers. Water steam condenses at a temperature of 47 C. Blood enters the condensers at 37c; its thermal capacity is 4329 W/K. The condenser has a heat transfer area of 5m2 ;its overall heat transfer coefficient is 600 W /m2K. Assume that:

(1) Steady operating conditions exist,

(2) The condenser is well-insulated,

(3) Changes in the kinetic and potential energies of fluid stream are negligible,

(4) The overall heat transfer coefficient is constant and uniform, and

(5) Fluid properties are constant.
