A Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) has a chemical reaction as follows A>B with a reaction rate r=kCA(kgA consumed /(minm3)). Given a constant Tank volume of V(m3) and a Flowrate F(m3/min) in and out of the tank, and an initial concentration of CAO(kgA/ m3) a) Derive the Ordinary Differential Equation for the chemical reaction process. Assume that the initial concentration, CAO, can be varied. (10 Marks) b) Assuming that you can apply the deviation variables correctly, what will the transfer function block for the process look like, assuming that the Flowrate, F is constant and the initial concentration, CAO, is varied? (10 Marks) c) From the Ordinary Differential Equation, can you identify what type of process this is? (4 Marks) d) Can you qualitatively explain what the impact of the Tank Volume, V, Flowrate, F and initial concentration, CA0, is on the process response? (6 Marks)
