A disaster can happen at any time. To help prepare your home in the event of a disaster, create an Emergency Preparedness Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). Using the template below, create an SOP addressing your plan for the following: Two types of disasters, either natural or manmade, based on your current geographic location Data backup, specifically, how you will back up your reports, pictures, etc. What you will include in a disaster recovery box, such as copies of licenses, birth certificates, food, water, etc., and where will you store this recovery box Your defined responsibilities The defined responsibilities of your roommate/significant other/children Your SOP should be at least two pages in length and should address all issues identified above Include APA references at the end of the SOP
