A donut shop in Boston was having trouble getting the correct staffing levels. It appears that they have staff with a lot of ideal time on few days and on the other days customers must wait a long time to get their donuts. Leo, the manager, felt a quantitative analysis of customer arrival patterns could lead to a better staffing solution. The first step is a reliable forecast for each day's number of arrivals. Leo needs your help in arriving at forecasting and placing the past data for a year following the details below on an excel sheet. It also has the following information: the day of the week, whether the day was a staff or faculty payday, and whether the day was before or after a holiday. Please use this data to develop a forecasting model for Leo. Make recommendations about staffing based on the analysis of your model. (Reminder that this is not asking to forecast the demand for next year).
