A garden hose (diameter of 7cm) has a ow rate of 45cm3/s. The bottom of the hose is on the ground, while the end of the hose is held by a child, 1.1m above the ground. The end of the hose has a nozzle on it with a cross sectional area of 0.00126m2. The pressure at the end of the hose is 3times 105 Pa.

a.  What is the pressure in the hose while it is on the ground?

b. Water has a viscosity of 1.7mPa s . Is the flow in the hose laminar or turbulent? What about through the nozzle?
