A host uses TCP to send a file of size 100 kbytes.
All segments during this transmission have size 1000 bytes (not including the TCP and
IP headers). It would take 100 segments to send the entire file if there were no losses.
Due to congestion, the 2nd,50th and 98th segments sent by the sender are lost. No
other packets are lost. Note that due to retransmission, for example, the 50th segment
is not the 50th segment of the file.
Plot the congestion window (CWND) as a function of time for TCP Tahoe.
Indicate
the size of CWND when the segment loss occurs,
the size of SSThresh.
Label the following regions:
slow start,
AIMD,
Fast Retransmit regions,
and finally, the Retransmission timeouts when appropriate. Measure CWND in segments.
