A motherboard can often be identified without having to open up a case. If you know how to use command line or PowerShell you can find this information pretty easily. If you dont know CLI/PowerShell, there are software tools available that will also tell you this information. [An example of such software is HWiNFO - see Lab Manual 2-1 for directions on how to use this tool if you are interested]. Find a software tool capable of providing motherboard information briefly explain how it works and how much it costs. Finally, answer why would you want to know the model number of your motherboard?
