A nationwide standarized exam consists of a multiple-choice section and a free-response section. Scores on the multiple-choice section have a mean of 38 and standard deviation of 6. Scores on the free-response section have a mean of 30 and a standard deviation of 7.

Suppose M and F are the multiple-choice score and free-response score, respectively, of a student selected at random from those taking this exam. When determining a student's overall score, the free-response score is given twice the weight of the multiple-choice score. That is, a student's total score, T, is computed as T = M + 2F.

Calculate the mean and standard deviation of T. (You do not need to interpret these values - just identify & report your numerical results.)

Show work for your calculations. If you are unable to determine a value, explain why.
