a part to be produced from steel sheet metal having ultimate strength of 4 2 0 MPa and yield strength of 2 8 0 MPa.

a part to be produced from steel sheet metal having ultimate strength of 420 MPa and yield strength of 280 MPa. Each team is then required to do the following:
1- Draw the part and give complete reasonable dimensions
2- Suggest an effective process plan to produce the part; the plan should clearly state the sequence of steps to produce the part, name of the process needed to be implemented in each step. An effective process plan is expected to produce the part at maximum production rate (minimum cycle time) and minimum waste.
3- Based on (1) and (2) above; specify the dimensions of the raw material strip to be used to produce the part, and show the best layout of the part on the strip wherever applicable.
4- Specify what type of punch(s) and die(s) you need to use to produce the part
5- Design the punch(s) and die(s) specified in point (3) above; i.e. draw sections of the punch and die to show the shape and all necessary dimensions. 6- Calculate the required force(s) needed to produce the part (including spring force wherever applicable)
7- If a cutting operation takes roughly 2 seconds, then estimate the power needed to produce the part.
8- Draw a rough assembly that shows the punch(s) and die(s) to be used; the assembly is to include other necessary elements such as stripper, die block(s), springs, ejectors, etc, here are the dimensions shown on the drawing:
Length: 300 mm
Width: 250 mm
Diameter: 90mm
