is $0.75? harrel. Let the xolume of crude no 1 used (barrel/day) is x1, and of crude ne 2 used
(barrel//day) is x2.
a) In order to determine the optimum daily feed rates (x1 and x2) of the two crudes that
maximizes the daily profit prepare a mathematical statement (objective function,
constraints etc.) of this problem. Discuss if this is a linear or nonlinear programming
problem.
b) Solve the optimization problem using Excel Solver. What are the optimum yalues of xl and
x2? What is the maximum daily profit?
