A researcher wanted to test the hypothesis that the physical arousal created by certain video games makes people consume sweets, and to explore whether how much gaming people usually engaged in was associated with how much they eat when gaming. Participants were asked about their gaming habits (how many hours per week they played video games and how they primarily played games). Then, they played either a Farming, Racing, or Fighting game for 30 minutes. While they gamed, they had free access to a plate containing 20 small cookies. The researcher measured the number of cookies participants ate during their gaming session. Below are data from this small experiment.
