Two sensors detect the water level. One sensor near the bottom of the reservoir detects when the water level has risen to a level that the pump should turn on. The other sensor at the top of the reservoir detects if the water level has risen too high and threatens to overflow the holding tank. The pump motor runs on three phase power. Each phase of the incoming power circuit has a sensor that indicates whether or not there is power on that phase. All three phases must be present for the motor to operate. The sensors operate as follows: The water level sensors output a high (5 volts) when the sensor is below water and output low 0 volts) otherwise The power sensors outputs a low (0 volts) when the phase power is present and outputs a high 5 volts) when power is absent. The system has multiple outputs that must be monitored.
