A self-managed team is an attractive concept. Zappos has taken it to its logical conclusion with Hsieh's concept of holocracy. First, examine the literature which defines the nature and operation of a self-managed team. Second, is a SMT understood the same at Zappos? Finally, take the concept to your organization and argue whether it can work, be modified to work, or does not have a chance to be implemented.
