A stakeholder can be defined as an individual or organization that has an interest in a program's outcome. A stakeholder may include individuals and communities that are involved in the operation of a program, those that are affected by a program, and those that are the primary users of a program. Stakeholders may be beneficial to the effectiveness or success of various healthcare programs and initiatives. In addition, stakeholders in healthcare often have an impact on the rising costs of healthcare, as well as the advancement of various healthcare products and services. For my practicum, my project topic is quality Control and compliance. Stakeholders are identified at three tiers: community; health provider & researcher and policymakers. The community tier includes study participants, patients, and their families, local leadership, and populations residing in the study area. The second tier incorporates public and private healthcare providers, program implementers, and the research fraternity. The third tier involves the policy decision-makers, media, national and international health organizations, and funding agencies
The goal of interprofessional teams is to offer patients effective and efficient treatment, and communication is a factor that influences the ability to meet that goal. Communication is a complex process, and both speakers and listeners carry responsibility for success that can support interprofessional teams in their communication efforts. Engaged listening is required for effective communication, and it involves hearing and trying to understand what the speaker intends for you to understand. Eye contact is also important; too much can be intimidating and too little can indicate you are nervous or disengaged. Conscious use of nonverbal cues can help counteract some of the professional, cultural, and linguistic differences you are likely to encounter on interprofessional teams. Team members' time is important, so you should be as concise as possible. Understanding the purpose of your interaction can help you stay focused and convey only the relevant information, which in turn helps the team achieve its common goal efficiently.

My practicum project focuses on the administrative side of the business regarding the implementation of employee benefits to ensure that retention and employee turnover is low. Additionally, by implementing and offering employee benefits, the organization will be able to use these things for recruiting purposes. With that being said, the main stakeholders in my project would include the business owner/doctor (my preceptor), the employees and the service providers/system.
Since my project focuses on project management and implementation, communication going to be vital in order to achieve the objectives. Jordev (2016), states that almost 30 percent of projects fail due to lack or poor communication among stakeholders. There are various communication methods that can be used to discuss the project progression with stakeholders. The first method of communication would be to schedule a meeting to discuss objectives and goals of the project. Meetings are a good communication method to avoid any confusion or misinterpretations among the stakeholders (Jordev, 2016). However, meetings can be difficult if stakeholders have busy schedules, so I would probably limit meetings to once a month to discuss. In addition, to monthly in person meetings, emails, calls and/or virtual meetings would be the most convenient way for everyone to discuss the project progression. I think that emails are a perfect way to send quick updates or changes, then these items can be followed up with in the monthly meetings.

There are numerous groups of stakeholders within my practicum project. Stakeholders can include any group or party that has an interest or concern in an organization, and can be affected by the organization's actions, goals, and policies (Lubekke et al., 2019). In health care setting stakeholders generally include the patients, providers, the payors, and the policy makers, the four P's (Lubekke et al., 2019). For my practicum site, there are numerous of these stakeholders involved including the Nurses, CNA's, Administrators, The Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, and Medicaid and Medicare (CMS). Additionally, 5 Star Holdings, Inc., reports to two main owners to approve processes, procedures, and funding. Successful communication between each of these stakeholders can vary, but all remain vitally important to the success of the organization. Currently to ensure successful communication, the Operations Director conducts leadership meetings with the owners, clinical team, and the operations team to ensure collaborative practice. Externally, the Operations Director ensure reports are sent to the state and federal entities DBHDS and CMS per their reporting requirements. Additionally, she stays up to date with communication FROM these entities to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Currently in this organization, there are numerous changes arising, therefore, during my practicum we will identify and develop change management strategies as well as communication strategies to ensure the changes are understood, implemented, and monitored successfully.
