A study was done to investigate the effect of light on root growth in mustard seedlings.Two groups of

seedlings were grown under identical conditions except that one was kept in the dark and the other was exposed to daylight during the day. After germination, the stems were cut off some of the seedlings to allow for the possibility that light affected the vigor of the whole plant through the stem and leaves. Later the root lengths (in mm) of all the seedlings were measured. A two-way ANOVA was used to examine the effect of light and stem cutting on root growth
