A successful former student has remained very involved with the school as an alumnus. A journalism student wants to write about his involvement with the school as both a student and an alumnus.

What information may be released to the journalism student?

The institution should ensure that the alumnus has not opted out of the disclosure of directory information, and if so$,$ may release any records the institution has designated as directory information.

The institution may release the alumnus$$ entire education record to the journalism student, under the condition that no grade information be published.

The institution is not permitted under FERPA to share any information.

Only information from the alumnus$$ post$-$graduate record may be shared.
