A number of people formed a co-operative society with the intention of buying a 250 hectare farm going at sh 60 000 per hectare. After sometime the management of the society realized that the members could not raise the required amount on time. They decided to recruit 40 more members with the result that each member would now pay sh 12 500 less.

Find the original number of member's who formed the society.(5mks)

After buying the farm it was subdivided equally among all the members. Determine how much land each member got. (3mks)

Each member had to pay surveyor's fees at the rate of sh 500 per hectare. Calculate the total amount each member paid for his piece of land. (2mks)
