A topic regarding benefits that I recently started exploring due to a family members emergency is related to short term and long-term disability. My husband works for a corporate company who offers short term disability for "a period not to extend 90 days". The company does not offer long term disability. My question is, with policies like this, does this make you eligible for termination due to an unforeseen medical circumstance despite the likelihood of being cleared for full duty upon return to employment? This could be something that varies from employer to employer but is something I was surprised to see and am still in the process of investigating
