A woman alleges General Motors has failed to honor the warranty on her Cadillac that had transmission issues and other defects.

Monica Trevino filed a complaint Jan. 4 in Harris County District Court against General Motors LLC alleging violation of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and other claims.

According to her suit, Trevino purchased a 2019 Cadillac from Sewell Cadillac in Houston on May 14, 2020. She alleges the vehicle had a 4 year/50,000 miles bumper to bumper GM warranty as well as a 6 year/70,000 mile GM Powertrain warranty. Trevino further alleges the Cadillac had several defects which dealers have not been able to repair and with the vehicle spending over a month in the repair shop.

She claims the defects include loose trim, AC failure along with a rear differential failure and defective sunshade. She also claims the vehicle experienced transmission problems such as "jerking shifts" and "complete engine failure." Trevino alleges she has suffered diminished value of the vehicle, loss of use as well as repair costs.

Trevino seeks monetary relief of less than $250,000, interest and all other just relief. She is represented by Craig Patrick of The Patrick Law Firm PC in Dallas.
