ABC Biochemistry Company produces hand sanitizers in 100 ml bottles on two different production lines (Line 1 and Line 2). The production manager claims that after the latest system update, there are differences in the amount of ethyl alcohol put into the sanitizer bottles produced on the production lines. To investigate this claim, control engineers must investigate the variances of the amount of ethyl alcohol in the bottles randomly selected from the production lines. A sample of 25 bottles were taken from the first production line and it was seen that the sample mean of ethyl alcohol in the bottles was 81 ml and the sample standard deviation was 4 ml. A sample of 31 bottles were taken from the second production line and it was seen that the sample mean of ethyl alcohol in the bottles was 79 ml and the standard deviation is 5 ml. Test at the 5% significance level that the variance of the ethyl alcohol in the bottles on the first production line is equal to the variance of the ethyl alcohol in the bottles on the second production line.
