Commonly used tools of public relations include news releases, press conferences, speaking engagements, and community service programs.
One if the most recent public relations disasters was with social media company Facebook now known as Meta. A former employee of Facebook leaked critical information that claimed the company leaked and forwarded personal information to third parties as well as gave detailed examples if how the company was responsible for adolescent nd teenager mental health issues because the platform was aimed at millennials and younger subscribers to the platform.
Facebook responded that these accusations were untrue and unmerited.
The company denying these allegations was a typical response by companies facing public relations disasters,however the company should disasters, taken into consideration the legal ramifications that these allegations could have the company face. Facebook/Meta should protect its users personal information by installing malware software that prevents data breaches of any kind. The company should also ensure its users that their personal information is protected from identity theft and bank fraud and other financial crimes.
The hacking of users accounts have also been a huge public relations disaster and the company should implement software that prevents these things from happening.
