Do not, however, just say, "I don't like that." Say instead, "This seems wrong, because..." In other words, provide reasons for challenging the idea, and remember that if the view you are challenging is itself supported by reasons in the text, you should be challenging those reasons rather than the claim directly. List the claim that you intend to challenge (either in a direct quote or in a paraphrase, but in both cases with textual support indicating that this is what the author says), [b] negate the claim (if the author is claiming X, then you will write not-X), and [c] provide possible reasons why someone might endorse or believe the negated version of the claim.
