Part 1: Go to a job platform and find a job posting for an entry-level position in your field of interest 1. Go to a website like indeed.com, careerbuilder.com, ziprecruiter.com or any other job platform. You can even use the Cambrian College Career Portal for this assignment. 2. Once there, look up an entry-level job in your area of interest. For example, if you are interested in accounting, search for an entry-level accounting job. If you are interested in HR, marketing, supply chain, etc. search accordingly. Part 2: Read the job requirements 1. Once you find a job description for an opening, read it, paying special attention to the job requirements. 2. Answer the following questions: . What skills do you have that the job asks for? . What skills do you not yet have? How do you plan o developing them? . Do you meet the minimum qualifications? Explain. Part 3: Compare the job description to your resume 1. Does your resume match some or most of the description? Do you use the verbs and some of the wording the job description uses? Explain. 2. If you do not have a resume, answer this question by thinking of your past experiences. Are your experiences aligned with the job description? How can you improve them to make them align? (Going to the Career Centre, attending workshops, applying for an internship, etc.?)
