I estimate about four hours to complete. In order to do well on the midterm, you must think this through on your own. Do not work with other students.

The Victorias Cakery sales/collection process begins when the customer places an order in person through a sales associate. Orders must be made at least five business days prior to the requested pickup date. Further, payment is made at the time of the order. Victorias Cakery accepts cash, check, or major credit card. Using the computer system, the sales associate prepares three copies of the sales order. One copy is provided to the customer, one copy is set to the Bakery Department for production scheduling, and one copy is placed in a temporary file to be used by the owner when making deposits at the end of each day. When the order is complete, one of the bakery staff packages the items to make them ready for pickup and, using the computer system, prepares two copies of the packaging slip. The packaging slips and bakery items are then transferred and stored in the retail section of the store awaiting pickup by the customer on the date requested. The sales order is filed in the Bakery numerically. When the items are picked up by the customer, the customer signs one of the packaging slips, acknowledging receipt of the goods. The Sales Associate provides the other copy of the packaging slip and the ordered items to the customer. The signed packaging slip is filed numerically in the sales file. At the end of every day, the manager prepares three deposit slips. Two deposit slips, along with the cash and checks received during the day, are sent to the bank, and the third deposit slip is filed, along with the related order documents. The manager updates the cash-receipts and sales journals daily.

Required: 1. Conceptual model: Draw an REA model with cardinalities for the operating events in the sales/collection process described above (do not model the production of the baked items). Make sure you differentiate between the operating and the information events. The REA model can be hand-drawn, but neatness is required.

2. Logical model: List each database table required (master and event tables), complete with key attributes (primary keys), foreign keys, and non-key attributes. Use proper notation as described in class. This part of the requirement needs to be typewritten
