Accuracy and precision are extremely important in all fields of science. It is important to clearly distinguish between the two when performing experiments and reporting and interpreting results. When companing values, accuracy is a measure of how close a measurement is to a real value, whereas precision is a measure of how close the values are to each other. Precision can also be used to describe the level of detail in which we measure and report our results.
