The complex formed (Coconu-A52-Rx-21) is soluble in aqueous solution and absorbs emr strongly at a wavelength of 563.6 nm. The gram formula mass of Coconu-A52-Rx-21 is unknown. In the analysis of a sample of palm oil from one of the smaller islands in the Philippines, the following analysis steps were taken: 1. A standard solution of Coconu-A52 as the complex was prepared by reacting 128.23 mg of Coconu-A52 with excess of the complex forming reagent (Color-Rx 21) and making up the solution to 100.0 mL in a volumetric flask. When the above solution was analysed at 563.6 nm with a UV-VIS spectrophotometer using a 1.00 cm quartz cell, it absorbed 23.82% of the incident source radiation. 2. A dilute sample of the Phillipines palm oil extract (diluted 1 part of the palm oil extract to 4 parts of deionized water) that was analysed in a manner similar to the above, absorbed 18.62% of the incident radiation when a 2.00 cm cell was used. Calculate the following: i) the absorptivity, a, of the Coconu-A52-Rx-21 complex, and ii) the concentration (in grams/litre) of the Coconu-A52 in the original palm oil extract
