Activity 1. Exploring Example Conclusions and Recommendations Presented below are statement of the problem, conclusions and recommendations. Examine the presented example and write five {5) sentences comments and suggestions based on what you have learned about writing conclusions and recommendations of a research paper. Statement of the Problem Allergens from HDMs like Dermatophagoides farinae are clinically important causative agents of allergies such as allergic rhinitis, allergic asthma, and atopic dermatitis Comment acaricides against HDMs, in addition to being expensive, pose harmful effects to the environment and human health; hence, there is a need to find alternative reagents with potential acaricidal activity but are both environment and userfriendly. Conclusions Based on the results presented in this study, essential oils from Cananga odorata, Citrus aurantium, and Pinus insularis have effective acaricidal activity against test cultures of Dematophagoides farinae. Of the three essential oils tested, ylangylang oil is the most effective acaricidal agent for Demalophagoides farinae through direct contact or fumigant method. Recommendations The identification or profiling through chemical means (SCMS) of the composition of the three essential oils would be appropriate in order to know what specific component of each oil makes it a potent acaricidal agent. Isolation of the constituents or of the main constituent of the oil after profiling may be used to test the oil for acaricidal activity. Since individual effects of ylangylang, pine, and dalandan oils were already measured, synergistic effects of these oils may optimize their efficacy. Other variables such as other endemic plants and commercial acaricides may be used as the oil and the positive control, respectively. Furthermore, the physiology of the acaricidal action and essential oils on HDMs may be explored. My comments and suggestions on the presented conclusions and recommendations: |
