Depending on the author, any scenario or situation presented can be written in more than one genre. For example, the situation where a person is undergoing surgery could be written as a drama, science fiction (if operating in space), historical (if in a different time period), and multiple others.

• Select a genre to write a paragraph given a specific situation.
• Select one of these situations to complete the activity:
  • An unknown virus has just been discovered in your hospital
  • A diabetic man with sores on his left foot just got admitted to the hospital
  • An obese patient is complaining that healthy food is too expensive
  • A plane you are on just crashed in a rural area, and you are the only medical professional on board
• Each response must be at least five sentences in length.
