Additional information for previous question

Sear Holdings Corporation declared bankruptcy on October 15, 2018 following years of declining sales and poor management. Sear Holdings was formed in 2005 when Kmart purchased Sears and the combined companies operated approximately 4000 locations. The idea was to merge two struggling retailers into one powerhouse by capitalizing on synergies that the combined entities would have. Both retailers were individually at one time the largest operators in the United States and both had International operations and many divisions.

Sears opened in 1886 when Richard Sears began selling watches and for most of the 20th century sears was innovative and at the forefront of retail trends.

Kmart started in 1898 as Kresges when Sebastian Kresge opened a 5 and 10 cents store which later evolved into Kmart Corporation.

Both retailers were individually at one time the largest operators in the United States and both had international operations and many divisions. Many analysts blame the rise of Walmart and later Amazon with their demise yet other retailers like kohls Macys ands Nordstrom continue to thrive.

What managerial accounting information could have helped the newly combined sears holdings to thrive rather than fail? Do a thorough analysis from the time of the merger until the time of the bankruptcy
