Advantages and Disadvantages of Electronic Retailing Electronic retailing has become an important part of how a company interfaces with its customers and facilitates a number of important channel related functions. Companies such as Walmart, Best Buy, Merrill Lynch, and many others offer products and services as well as extensive customer support online. This activity is important because electronic retailing carries both advantages and disadvantages that marketing managers need to consider as they work to develop effective e-commerce strategies. The goal of this exercise is to demonstrate an understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of electronic retailing. Electronic retailing (e-retailing or e-tailing) is the communication and sale of products or services to consumers over the Internet. Read each statement to determine whether it is an advantage or disadvantage of electronic retailing. Then determine which particular advantage or disadvantage it's portraying and drag and drop each item to the corresponding spot. Note that some of the examples are related to fictional companies and websites.
