Adventure Works Cycles is a fictional company that manufactures metal and composite bicycles for sale to commercial distributors in North America, Europe, and Asia. Adventure Works is a multinational company headquartered in Bothell, WA. The firm recently acquired a manufacturing plant in Mexico that makes touring bicycles and subcomponents of other bicycles. The company is currently seeking to expand its market share by targeting high-volume customers, expanding availability of products on the Web, and lowering production costs.

Adventure Works has decided to implement a data warehouse to provide improved decision support services to executives. You will create a prototype of the planned data warehouse as a proof of concept, populate it with data extracted from the company's operational database, create business intelligence reports on sales from the prototype data warehouse, analyze the information shown on the reports, and make recommendations to management based on your analysis.

Deliverables

After completing the steps below, submit a single Microsoft Word file named LabWeek4xxx.docx (where xxx = your initials). This file will contain the following.

1. Screenshots of three CREATE TABLE statements for a prototype data warehouse
2. Screenshots of three INSERT queries to populate the data warehouse, with results
3. Screenshots of two SELECT queries reporting data from the data warehouse, with an analysis and recommendation based on each set of query results.
