After class, the Professor promises a student, Daisy, a part-time job as a researcher for the rest of the semester. "You can start on Monday," she says, "and we'll work out pay and all the details then." "You mean I can give up my job at Burger King?" asks an elated Daisy. "Sure thing," chirps the Professor but on Monday, the Professor informs Daisy that she has lost the funding for her research and can offer no job. Daisy is unable to get her job back at Burger King.
