After reading Melissa Osgood's biography below, please come up with two questions. One question, relate it to communication. 

Melissa Osgood has worked in the communication field for over 15 years in a variety of different roles. After graduating from Hiram College in December 2001, she was a producer and reporter before pursuing a career in public relations. She spent eight years working for a regional dairy checkoff marketing company in New York where she managed industry relations as well as a grassroots program with over 1,500 volunteers and helped launch the industry's first crisis communications team. In 2013, she joined the media relations team at Cornell University where she was responsible for placing Cornell researchers and experts in media outlets around the world. She has since worked for the College of Veterinary Medicine and is now the Director of Communications for the Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science - Cornell's newest and fastest growing college. In this role, she is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive strategic communications plan and team dedicated to elevating the college as well as a variety of initiatives and institutes. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, photography, woodworking, and spending as much time as possible outdoors with her dog, family, and friends. In 2021, she was diagnosed with cancer and now volunteers her time as a patient advocate speaking with students, researchers and doctors about how to communicate cancer research as well as how to improve patient care and treatment.
