Barriers to, and types of, listening will be identified; techniques for both active and interactive listening will be explained; and tactics for developing a climate that demonstrates receptivity will be outlined. This module then defines the importance of nonverbal communication and discusses how to recognize nonverbal cues, including movement, personal appearance, and nonverbal signs of deception. Finally, this module investigates spatial zones and their effect on communication.
