After reading this insert, I would state that this is a very interesting topic and I found reading it quite interesting. For years, my Father was a truck driver who traveled the world dropping off and picking up loads all across the east coast and even into the west a little bit. From a young man's experience I can say it was quite interesting, but didn't seem like it was a career that would get old simply, because you're steadily on the road seeing new states & meeting new people, However it wasn't like an ordinary job where you'd have daily interaction with individuals from eight or more hours. Now when reading it I found that most from my own thinking, I feel as if truck driving is a strange, but neat occupation. It is a career that most individuals would state boring after a while. Now we all know that each driver is different and different things either excites them or does not excite them within the company. Starting off, it is hard to please everyone, however, the company can implement new tools that could help the drivers love the job that they work. When reading, I noticed one individual's response. Luis' comment strikes me for one reason and one reason only. Not the fact that he has driven seven years, but he makes one comment that is striking. "You get to know the other drivers, even if you do not see them that often" (Unit 3 Case Study). Overlooking this statement, it seems to me part of the turn around for the company comes from individuals not knowing those they work for and with. I would state here the company should implement days when all truckers are home for a social. A moment where all

3 drivers can get together and know each other building lasting relationships. Relations are everything and it's something money cannot buy. When looking at the responses from the individuals who work for the company, I understand each can be argued for or against, but there is one that I know can be improvised upon. In Terrell's response, he talks about how boring & repetitive the job is for him. He states that he's only been on the job for three years, but feels longer. He ends by saying, "If I have to hear some of these talk shows and music again, I will lose it. After a while, even listening to the radio, podcasts, and audiobooks can't make it interesting" (Unit Case Study). For problems or thoughts like Terrell has stated, I would recommend the company allowing new life for truck drivers. What does that mean? Giving free tuition or tuition remission for truck drivers. Since they are on the road much of the time, I would recommend in their free time, giving them the opportunity to work towards a degree they couldn't get growing up due to unseen circumstances. Also, taking breaks when stopping by different rest stops. Reccoments hiking and exploring the area. Similar to 9-5 jobs, allow them to be able to live freely while out on the road. After my clear readings, I am pressed on relationship building within the company to strengthen making individuals wanted by the company. The other bright idea would be to offer ideal job incentives. Such as coupons for food on the road, tuition remission, free or reduced workout plans with different company brands and even tourist opportunities while drivers are out on the road. Simply because drivers are not gaining the normal interaction with other individuals of the

4 company, making life better has to be a must for individuals out on the road. Giving them the opportunity to add more money to their pockets or even allow them the opportunity to take development classes is also huge. Also, last thing, referring back to Camerons note. I support paying drivers when they are sitting at docks simply if it is apart of their 14 hours during the day of driving.
