After seeing a newly-constructed home listed by Walter Skinner of Iwanttobelieve Realty, Dana Scully desperately wanted to purchase it. She reached out to her dear friend, Fox Moulder, who was also an agent at Iwanttobelieve Realty. Fox was careful to have Dana sign all the requisite paperwork. It was in signing the paper that Dana noticed her mortgage broker, John Doggett, had received fees totaling 1.4% of the loan. Although this amount seemed high, Dana desperately wanted the deal to go through so that she could move into the stunning new home.

The home, which sat. on 2.5 acres, had been built by C.S. Man, in the lovely residential development known as Washington Pines. Unbeknownst to Dana, the development was directly adjacent to the land known as "X-Files" X-Files was a historically classified crash site of several extraterrestrial spaceships and remains laden with paranormal activity. C.S. Man had received reports of X-Files and discussed them with Walter but could neither confirm or deny its existence.

When Dana bought the home, she was unaware of X-Files. Six months later, after the existence of X-Files became public, her house lost considerable market value. There is not a day that goes by without curiosity seekers visiting the X-Files hoping to find out the truth for themselves.

If that weren't enough, Scully began noticing strange electrical problems with her new home. Parts of her house were losing power at random times. After an investigation, Dana was relieved to find out that the service panel was simply too small for the circuit breakers.
