After studying of the plans and construction schedule of the gas station under construction, Mr. Montero developed some estimates of the time required to complete each step of the building of the tire shop. These estimates appear in Exhibit 1 and in most cases were given to Mr. Montero by the foreman of the gas station job. Mr. Montero desperately needed answers to the following questions: 1. Without reducing the time to do any activity, how long should the project take? Include a dependency diagram with your answer. 2. Ms. Anderson suggested that if the project took more than 54 days, the first activity time which could be reduced was the time required to receive lumber and other construction materials after ordering. Anderson Associates could pay a $1,000 fee to expedite shipment of all materials reducing this time by 2 days. Would this be a good idea? Why or why not? 3. What activities are good candidates for reducing the project completion date? 4. If the subcontractor who installs the automobile lift is not free for 30 days from the earliest date they could start their work, will this delay the project? Why or why not
