Age: 4 years 3 months Ian calls out for all his friends to join in his play. "Come into our plane!", Ian shouts to his friends. Ella, who is drawing on a chalkboard nearby, hears the call and quickly finishes up her drawing and runs towards Ian's plane. Ella tries to board the plane, but Ian pushes her out and says, "No, no, no, no, no, no. You can't go in the plane!" He has reserved spots for his friend, Sophia. "You can't go on the plane! Go away!", says Ian. An educator walks in and explains to Ian that there is space for Ella. Ian says, "But I have the pram over here" pointing to the platform, showing that there is no space for Ella. By this time, Sophia is on the platform, while still sitting on the tricycle. The educator shows Ian where Ella can fit and suggests that the plane is ready for take-off. Ian presses the button on the wall to show that the plane has taken off. A girl runs to the group and wants to join in but because there is no room for her, Ella jumps off the platform and runs away with the girl. Sophia follows them. Now Ian is on his own on the platform. Ian is not happy that he is now alone in the plane. He shouts out to Sophia telling her that she cannot get off the plan as it is still in the air. Ian says, "It's not going down, it's going up! Sophia! Argh....Sophia!". Sophia answers back from afar, "No, I'm not going anymore." Ian shouts back, "You're going in with me! You come here." Sophia replies firmly, "No!" and continues her play with Ella. Both girls return to the platform, and it seems to be a different play episode. Ian watches the girls from his position on the platform and reminds Sophia that the plane is going up and not down. Sophia watches as the two other girls run off the platform and she follows soon after. Ian seems to realise that Sophia is no longer interested in his play. He gets onto a tricycle like Sophia and calls out to Sophia to join him. Sophia continues to play with the other two girls.
