Ahmad approach Ali who is one of the supplier, importer, distributor and manufacturer of Toyota vehicle in Malaysia and told Ali that he wanted to buy a car of Toyota made, more specifically a Camry. Ahmad then identified the color, the model and all the requisite specifications. Two weeks later after credit facilities arrangement has been settled, Ali issued vehicle invoice no: 1234567 for the sale of a new Toyota Camry 2.0G bearing car registration No. QMT701 for the purchase price of RM150,000.00 and deliver the said car to Ahmad.

On the day that he collected the car, Ahmad complained to Ali that the car was wobbling, and the steering was pulling to the left side. Ahmad then was told to use the car for the first 100km and later to bring it to the service Centre in Penang. After the first 100km, Ahmad brought the said car to the service Centre in Penang where he was told that the wheel alignment and wheel balancing were out of specification. Alignment and balancing of the wheels were then carried out.

However, when Ahmad drove the vehicle, he experienced the same problem. He complained again to Ali who told him to continue using the car for few days. When problem became worse Ahmad brought the car and left it in Ali's premises for him to rectify the persistent problem of balance of the car. Then Ahmad was called by Ali and was told by technical consultants that the vehicle has some problem and said the absorbers are hard and has to be changed to the soft type.

Ahmad then lodged a police report. Ahmad subsequently met you to seek for your advice. Ahmad informed you about his car problems contending that the goods are not of acceptable quality and not fit for its purpose and the car has defects. Advise Ahmad.
