Aims The aim of this assignment is for students to critically look at the Occupational Safety Health Act 2004 as amended and determine any shortcomings. Learning Outcomes On completion of this assignment, you will - - Be familiar with the legislation currently enforced in Trinidad dealing with general health and safety in the workplace - Understand the OSHA provisions in Trinidad which ensures that legislation dealing with general health and safety in the workplace is adequate - Be able to critically evaluate your country legislation for the control of general health and safety in the workplace. Brief The OSH act has been implemented in Trinidad and the legislations and enforcements provisions may deal with some of the general health and safety in the workplace. On the basis of the contents of this course, prepare a report identifying any shortcomings/gaps with the OSH Act and make appropriate justifiable recommendations to improve the general health and safety in the workplace. General Instruction The work is to be word-processed and appropriately referenced using the HARVARD referencing system. It should be presented in the form of a report and the length must not exceed 1500 words, excluding appendices, bibliography, etc. A word count should be included at the end of the main text.
